41 Weeks and still pregnant. But that's ok, because God is bigger than time!!!
Last week at my 40 wk appointment we were told that if our girl hadn't come by 41 wks we were to go to the hospital for another sono to check all the fluids and make sure she is still doing well. We would also get her heart monitored for at least half an hour to make sure it was doing well. So this morning we headed to the hospital for our appointment. :)
We arrived around 8am and were put in Triage to get hooked up to the monitors to listen to her heart. After two hours of hanging out just the two of us playing cards and listening to her heart beat (which was TOTALLY normal), a nurse came and got us and took us to have the sono. It was so wonderful to see her again, although it was a little different than the 19 wk sono, she's so big now, her body doesn't fit in one shot but OH IS SHE CUTE!!! Although when she told us what the computer projected her weight to be, it was quite a funny shock....8lbs 14oz!!!! hahaha My tummy has always looked so small, but we were told the projection could be a 1lbs or so off...but honestly, I don't mind if she's 9lbs, I am just so excited to meet her!!
So after the sono we were taken back to the triage room and told that our midwife would be in soon to check how far I had dilated and to talk a game plan. 'Soon' became another 2 hours.hehe she was delivering several other women..we weren't fussed at all though, we had a tv with cable in the room so we were just watching the U.S vs. Algeria (you should have seen Scott and I jumping up and down high five-ing as quietly as possible when we scored the goal!!). Another really good thing about the extra 2 hours we were given to ourselves we were able to talk and pray about the options before us about Smalls, it was a sweet time for us with the Lord.
The midwife finally arrived and checked me. As of today I am 3cm dilated, 90% effaced and Smalls is now at +1 (which means she is soooo low in my pelvis, very ready for birth!). We talked through all of the options with our midwife (induction and such, things like that) and what we finally decided on was that I would get my membranes stripped (not breaking the water, just getting things moving along a bit quicker) and if I hadn't gone into labor by tomorrow morning, then I'll be induced.
So right now we are hanging out hoping my body will kick into labor mode in the next 14 hours, if not, 9am tomorrow will see us at the hospital getting hooked up to some go-go juice :) hehe....so no matter what happens, we will be meeting our baby girl in the next 30 or so hours :)!!!!!!!!!! We could not be more excited!! and what makes having our girl come tomorrow even more special, is that BOTH sets of Grandparents are here to be apart of the big day, which probably will never be a possibility again. We didn't think my parents would be at this birth let alone Dougg and LeAnn as well....what a celebration will be had tomorrow!! (Dougg and LeAnn leave Sunday morning, and my Dad flys back to Australia Wednesday morning so everyone will have enough time to love on Smalls before they have to get back to life) :) God has been so good to us.
Please continue to pray for us over the next 24 hours, especially for strength and peace for Scott and I and safety and health for Smalls as she enters the world tomorrow. Thank you for your prayers already, we have felt them and appreciate them so much! This ride is just about to get THAT much more exciting....I can't wait to share our baby girl with you in the coming days...please be patient if you don't hear from us tomorrow....We will for surely post a picture of her at some point and FINALLY share her name with you all!! hehe SHE'S A COMING!!! :D
LOVE TO ALL!!!!
